What is Cisco EnergyWise and the FieldServer solution?
Cisco EnergyWise enables the utilization of the network as the platform for energy command and control. It built into Cisco switches and routers to reach across an entire corporate or institution infrastructure.
IT networks using Cisco switches and routers are able to discover Cisco EnergyWise manageable devices, enabling energy management systems to monitor their power consumption and take action based on business rules to reduce power consumption while ensuring continued business productivity. Many devices including IP phones, computers, laptops, VDI terminals and PDU's have access to the Cisco EnergyWise domain and are part of the network. However, until now, many legacy building devices and non-Ethernet connected devices have been left out of the domain. This includes a significant number of energy consuming devices such as lighting, HVAC, access control and safety systems.

FieldServer Technologies provides a key solution for Cisco EnergyWise. Using the FieldServer Gateway with the Cisco EnergyWise Endpoint driver brings a wide array of building automation devices and networks into the Cisco EnergyWise domain, allowing these third-party devices to provide important energy and operational control data that can be utilized by the energy monitoring and control system interfacing to the EnergyWise domain. A FieldServer Gateway with the Cisco EnergyWise Management API driver allows third-party Management and Control systems to interface to the EnergyWise domain, enabling these systems to utilize the information within the domain.
FieldServer is proud to align with Cisco by developing this capability that has the potential to massively expand the adoption of EnergyWise in existing and future Cisco networks. Cisco's EnergyWise domain, coupled with FieldServer's gateway to existing building automation devices and networks, enables serious energy management by today's building owners, managers and integrators.
The FieldServer Cisco EnergyWise Solution has been tested and demonstrated at the Cisco demonstration lab below and has been well received by several clients.
